Calgary to Islamabad Winter Flights: Etihad vs PIA Fares (Dec to Mar)
FJ quoted round-trip fares from Calgary to Islamabad for a mid-December to mid-March stay: $2,995 CAD on Etihad and $3,670 CAD on PIA, which includes two 28 kg bags each way.
Planning a long winter stay in Pakistan? Many families leave Calgary in mid-December and return in mid-March, and the airline you choose can change both your fare and your baggage allowance. Here is what FJ Travels and Tours recently quoted for this route.
The route
- From: Calgary (YYC)
- To: Islamabad (ISB)
- Travel period: mid-December 2026 to mid-March 2027, about three months away
- Airlines quoted: Etihad and Pakistan International Airlines (PIA)
What it costs
| Airline | Quoted fare | |---|---| | Etihad | $2,995 CAD | | PIA | $3,670 CAD |
Both fares include taxes. The Etihad fare is about $675 CAD lower than PIA for the same travel period. Ask your FJ agent to confirm the fare basis (per traveller) for your group when you request a quote.
Baggage
The PIA fare comes with two bags of 28 kg each way. That is a generous allowance if you are carrying gifts, winter clothing for the trip out, or extra items for the return. Ask your agent to confirm Etihad's baggage allowance before you decide. If you expect to pack heavily, a lower fare can end up costing more once extra bag fees are added.
Good to know
- Peak season: Mid-December to March is a busy period for travel to Pakistan, including winter holidays and wedding season. Seats and fares can change quickly, so it is worth enquiring early.
- Long stays: A three-month trip means your return date matters. Check that your passport has plenty of validity and that your return date is one you are comfortable with.
- To get an accurate quote: Tell your agent your travel dates, the number of travellers and the cities you are flying to and from.
