Umrah Planning: Makkah and Medina Hotel Prices, Flight Fares and Visa Timing for Late 2026

Planning Umrah for late October or early November 2026? Here is a snapshot of what FJ Travels and Tours quoted for a trip departing around 24 October and returning in early November. It should help you budget for flights, hotels, transfers and the visa.

The route and dates

• Departure: late October 2026
• Return: early November 2026
• Destination: Makkah and Medina, Saudi Arabia

FJ looked for an earlier departure with a longer layover, but nothing suitable was available. The 24 October departure was the option that worked. If your dates are flexible by a day or two, tell your agent early so they can compare more options.

What it costs

Flight fares were quoted per person in Canadian dollars:

• Adult ticket: $1,725 CAD per person
• Child ticket: $1,550 CAD per person

Fares include taxes. FJ also charges a separate service fee for arranging the booking.

Airport transfer: a private transfer from Medina airport to a Medina hotel was quoted at $225 CAD.

Changes and cancellations: if your dates change after ticketing, the fee quoted was $350 CAD plus any difference in fare. Book only once your dates are firm.

Hotels

FJ quoted two hotels, each as one quad room with breakfast (bed and breakfast):

• Al Ebaa Makkah Hotel, Makkah: $1,325 CAD for one quad room
• ODST Medina, Medina: $1,450 CAD for one quad room

Both prices are for the room as quoted. Ask your agent to confirm the number of nights and the total for your stay. Prices vary by hotel, distance from the Haram and travel dates, so compare a few options if you have a set budget.

Umrah visa timing

For travellers on a Canadian passport, FJ advised that the Umrah visa is processed within 24 hours. If a passport is still being renewed or issued, make sure you have it in hand at least several days before departure. A window of about a week gave a comfortable margin.

Good to know

• Send passport copies early. Ticketing and visa work cannot start without them.
• Card authorization: FJ uses a credit card authorization form so only the amount you approve is charged. If an airline charges more than quoted, FJ refunds the difference.
• Transfers: if you want a pre-booked ride from Medina airport, ask when you book your flights. It is easier to arrange together.
• Seats and rooms sell quickly around peak Umrah periods, so decide early.
