Umrah in the Last 10 Days of Ramadan 2027: What Flights, Visas and Transfers Cost

Many travellers want to spend the last 10 days of Ramadan in Makkah and Medina. It is the most sought-after window for Umrah, and flights fill early. Here is a sample of what FJ Travels and Tours quoted for travel from late February into March 2027, so you can start planning your budget.

The route

This trip is built around Jeddah as the entry and exit point, with ground transfers linking the two holy cities:

• Fly into Jeddah
• Transfer from Jeddah to your hotel in Makkah
• Transfer from Makkah to Medina
• Transfer to Jeddah airport for the journey home

What it costs

All prices are per person, in Canadian dollars:

• Air ticket: $1,700 CAD per person
• Saudi visa: $200 CAD per person
• Ground transfers (Jeddah to Makkah hotel, Makkah to Medina, and on to Jeddah airport): $350 CAD per person

That adds up to $2,250 CAD per person for the ticket, visa and transfers combined. Hotels are not part of this figure.

Hotels

Hotel pricing was quoted separately from the flight, visa and transfers. Rates in Makkah and Medina during the last 10 days of Ramadan depend heavily on how close the hotel is to the Haram and Masjid an-Nabawi. They also depend on the number of nights, so ask FJ for options once your dates are set.

Good to know

• Canadian citizens need a visa for Saudi Arabia. FJ's agents advised that it can also be obtained on arrival. Many travellers still prefer to have it arranged ahead of time so there is one less thing to sort out after a long flight.
• Book early. The last 10 days of Ramadan are the busiest time of the year for Umrah. Seats and hotel rooms close to the Haram go first.
• Dates may shift. Ramadan follows the moon sighting, so confirm your final travel dates before paying.
• Plan your hotel budget separately from the $2,250 CAD per person above.
