Umrah from New York (JFK) to Jeddah, October 2026: Land Package and Flight Options

The route

The trip starts and ends in Jeddah, with ground transport covering the whole journey:

• Jeddah to Makkah
• Makkah to Madinah
• Madinah to Madinah airport or Jeddah airport for the flight home

The flights quoted were JFK to Jeddah in mid-October 2026, returning after about a week.

What the land package costs

$885 CAD per person for 8 nights. This is a land-only price, so flights and visa are extra.

What is included

• 8 nights of hotel accommodation in Makkah and Madinah

Flight options from JFK (per person, in CAD)

• Saudia (nonstop): $1,400 CAD when first quoted. Closer to departure, the price was $1,795 CAD for a 10 October departure and $1,595 CAD for 11 October.
• Gulf Air via Bahrain: $1,195 CAD in the first quote, later $1,275 CAD for a mid-October departure. The Bahrain stopover is about 7 hours. The fare includes 2 checked bags of 23 kg each and a 7 kg hand carry.
• Etihad via Abu Dhabi: $1,375 CAD with 2 checked bags. The transit in Abu Dhabi is about 2 hours each way.

For the Gulf Air fare, FJ noted a cancellation charge of $1,150 CAD per person and a change fee of $650 CAD per person. Always check these rules before you pay.

Saudi visa

The Saudi visa for Canadian passport holders was quoted at $200 CAD per person.

Good to know

• Book early. Airfares rose by about $200 to $400 CAD within two days of the first quote. Waiting cost real money.
• Compare stopovers. A one-stop flight can save a few hundred dollars per person, but check the layover length against your comfort.
• Special meals can be requested when your ticket is issued.
• Check your documents as soon as you receive them. Make sure names match your passport exactly, because airlines usually allow free voids only until midnight on the day of issue.
• Arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before an international departure.
