Multi-City Flights: Detroit to Beirut, Beirut to Guangzhou, Guangzhou to Toronto

Planning a trip that doesn't follow a simple there-and-back pattern? A multi-city (open-jaw) ticket can link several cities on one booking. Here is a recent example FJ Travels and Tours quoted for travel in October and December 2026.

The route

This itinerary has three separate flights:

• Detroit (DTW) to Beirut (BEY) in early October 2026
• Beirut (BEY) to Guangzhou (CAN) in mid-October 2026
• Guangzhou (CAN) to Toronto (YYZ) in late December 2026

The traveller starts in Detroit, spends time in the Middle East and Asia, and comes home to Toronto instead of Detroit. That gap of more than two months between the second and third flights is also why a multi-city ticket suits this trip better than a standard return fare.

What it costs

• Multi-city fare for the full itinerary: $3,350 CAD per adult

This was the first fare FJ found for the routing, and it was not limited to a single stop on each flight.

One stop or more?

Some travellers prefer to keep each flight to one stop to cut down on travel time and connections. On this itinerary, FJ's agent noted that limiting the flights to one stop would raise the price, so the fare above is not the one-stop price. If a shorter journey matters more to you than the lowest fare, ask for both options and compare them.

Good to know

• Multi-city fares are priced as a single itinerary, so changing one leg later can affect the whole ticket.
• To get an accurate quote, have your cities and travel months ready, and tell your agent whether you want the lowest fare or the fewest stops.
• Fares on routes like Beirut to Guangzhou can change quickly with seat availability, so check the price close to the time you plan to book.
