Flights to Islamabad in Late December 2026: What to Expect

Planning to visit family in Pakistan over the holidays? December is one of the busiest and most expensive times to fly to Islamabad. Here is what FJ Travels and Tours was quoting for trips in the second half of December 2026, so you know what to expect.

The route

The route is Canada to Islamabad, with a return after roughly 10 to 12 days. Two types of itinerary were available:

• PIA direct: operates only once a week, every Friday. If you want the non-stop option, your departure date is basically set by that schedule.
• Connecting flights: 2-stop itineraries are cheaper but take longer.

What it costs

Fares quoted in September 2026 for late-December departures:

• 2-stop itinerary: $2,490 CAD, with a lower option at $2,290 CAD
• PIA: $2,550 CAD
• PIA with 1 piece of checked baggage: $2,660 CAD per person
• Other airlines: generally above $3,000 CAD

All fares were already discounted. December is peak season, so there were no cheaper dates to switch to, and moving a day earlier or later did not help.

Good to know

• Baggage: check whether your fare includes checked baggage. The $2,660 CAD PIA fare included 1 piece.
• Changes: on PIA, the first date change was free of cost. Any later changes depend on the fare class (class of difference), so ask before you book.
• Seat holds: PIA holds a seat only for the same day, so be ready to confirm quickly once you choose a fare.
• Ticketing: once the booking is confirmed, the e-ticket is issued and sent by email. Check the flight details carefully before you pay.
• Book early: seats on the Friday direct flight fill up quickly in the holiday period, and fares rarely drop closer to departure in December.

2. Be flexible by a few days, and check each date, since fares can vary.
