Calgary Umrah Package for Winter Break 2026: 7 Nights, Makkah and Madinah

Planning Umrah over the Christmas school break? It is one of the busiest and most expensive times of year to go. Here is a real example of what a 7-night Umrah package from Calgary cost for late December 2026, and how to bring the price down.

The route

• Return flights from Calgary
• Travel dates: 22 to 30 December 2026
• 4 nights in Makkah, then 3 nights in Madinah

What it costs

These are the quoted figures for one group travelling together:

• Return airfare from Calgary: $13,000 CAD in total
• Complete ground transportation in Makkah and Madinah, with ziyarat: $850 CAD in total
• Hotels (economy): $1,650 CAD in total for one quad room, room only
• All-inclusive package total: $17,400 CAD, covering tickets, visas, transportation and accommodation

Hotels

• Makkah (4 nights): Voco Makkah, with a free shuttle to the Haram
• Madinah (3 nights): Al Ansar Golden Tulip Hotel, within walking distance

Both are economy-category hotels.

Saudi visa fees

The visa fee depends on the passport you hold:

• Canadian passport: $200 CAD each
• Permanent resident travelling on another passport: $500 CAD each
• Some other passports carry an additional $300 CAD per person for the Umrah visa

Tell us which passports everyone is travelling on when you ask for a quote, so the visa total is correct from the start.

Good to know

• Dates matter. Our agents advised that travel before 10 December, or after 10 January, is usually more affordable than the winter break.
• Families and school schedules. If you are tied to school holidays, book early, because seats on peak dates sell out and fares rise.
• Room type. This hotel quote was for one quad room, room only. Meals and extra rooms change the total.
• Changes. Packages can be modified, such as hotel category, length of stay or dates.
